MEET MISS TEEN DC INTERNATIONAL 2010: ALEXIS HARVEY!
Alexis Virginia Harvey, is a 17-year-old High School Sophomore. She was crowned Miss Teen District of Columbia International on May 1, 2010 and will represent the District at the 2010 Miss International Pageant in Chicago, Illinois.
Alexis is an Honor Roll Student at Bowie High School, having received several honors and awards in History and Science courses. Her hobbies include singing, modeling, dancing and serving her community. She attends to Greater Mt Calvary Holy Church, at which she serves as a member of the hospitality committee and the Youth Group, IMPACT. She also volunteers in the community as a member of the organization, Worth the Wait Revolution, Inc through which she serves as a role model for her peers and teenagers by representation of sexual purity with contemporary style and urban class.
Alexis’s community service platform is entitled, “Advocating for Homelessness Through the DREAM Foundation”. Drawing on her personal life experience, she developed a passion for the state of homelessness in the nation at a very young age. She endeavors to create the DREAM Foundation as a means to assist the homeless populations in the DC Metro area by providing basic needs of food, clothing, drug treatment, mentoring and tutoring. She also advocates for the Homeless population to be replanted into society through educational assistance and life coaching programs.
